Hi there!
This newsletter is a way for me to start conversations with you, so don’t hesitate to reply to this email :)
River of updates
Last newsletter I promised an update for my experiment of going a full 24 hours without screen time. The result of the experiment was surprising and rewarding. I’ll do more of these going forward and I recommend you to try it!
I know I’ve been writing seemingly random topics, I do that to explore my passion while creating a habit of producing/ expressing.
So far, what do you think are my strength or personal monopoly? Name three or four please :)
Creativity realm
As part of my new project about People+Atmosphere, I’m making a collage which is an exploration of the atmospheric and sensory qualities of my chosen place. Atmospheres mean the mood or character of a space directly connected to our bodily sensory perception. The way a place looks, sounds, smells, feels and tastes contributes to our perception of atmosphere.
I chose the Staples Center (shocking), where I watched my first NBA game. Collage is an interesting way to think by sticking a seemingly random things. To start creating one, I think about the place’s:
Material - What material is your place made from, and how does it look/feel
Lighting - Is light a defining element of your place? What colour is it?
Activity - Is there a particular activity that occurs in this place?
Smell/Taste - where does this come from? How is it experienced?
Sound - Is your place overwhelmed by a specific sound?
What’s one place that holds a special meaning to you?

James Bond’s posters by Matt Needle. Here’s the full collection. Tbh, I’m not a fan of James Bond but I love vintage posters and album covers.
Questions that made me think
I was playing 36 Questions that Lead to Love with my friends when someone asked me this : “If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?”
My answer was having more fun and being impactful in other people’s lives. It’s funny how I didn’t think of reading more books which seems to be every successful person’s advice. After I pondered more, I think the answer changes as the duration is longer e.g. 1 to 5 to 10 years. Our short term instinct is to have fun, which is in contrast with our long term vision that makes us want prepare for the future.
Maybe the things that have stopped you from having fun is when you think too long into the future. Having a long term vision is great, but what if you aren’t around long enough to enjoy the future you envisioned? Don’t forget to have fun along the way!
If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?
Share this with your friends! This newsletter can also be a conversation starter with someone you always want to get closer with ;)
I think the best ideas come from conversations, so if you have something to say, feel free to reply or DM me on Twitter. You can also find out more about me or my writing on Sherlearns.com. I promise I will reply to all your messages!
